The Avalanche's offense was simply magnificent in the first round.
The Colorado Avalanche had a spectacular series against the Winnipeg Jets. They defeated their Central Division rivals in only five games, and their explosive offense was a big reason for it.
The Avalanche scored at least five goals in all five games of the series and 28 in total. That is remarkably impressive offense, especially considering that they did this against Vezina Trophy candidate Connor Hellebuyck.
The Avalanche's big guns were naturally significant reasons for their dominance. Nathan MacKinnon, Mikko Rantanen, and Cale Makar all had nine points. Valeri Nichushkin also had seven goals in five games.

While the Avalanche's stars stepped up big time, they also got outstanding secondary scoring. Artturi Lehkonen had a spectacular series, posting five goals and eight points in five games. Casey Mittelstadt had six points in five games. Defensemen Josh Manson and Devon Toews each had five points in five games as well.

The Avalanche's bottom six also contributed, as Ross Colton, Zach Parise, and Andrew Cogliano each had some big offensive moments.
The Avalanche's goal will now be to continue this strong offensive play. If they can keep up this kind of scoring, they should continue to have great success this postseason. The potential is certainly there.
