The Avs will play three games at home and three away in the preseason beginning on Sept 24.

The Colorado Avalanche will play the same three teams in six contests for preseason to start the 2023-24 NHL season.

The team will play three home games at Ball Arena and three games away. They’ll face off against the Dallas Stars, Minnesota Wild and Vegas Golden Knights. The Avs played the same teams in preseason last year.

Preseason begins on Sept. 24 against the Wild for an afternoon matchup at Ball Arena. Puck drops at 1 p.m.

    Here’s the full preseason schedule:

Sunday, Sept. 24 vs. Wild at 1 p.m. - Ball Arena

Monday, Sept. 25 vs. Golden Knights at 7 p.m. - Ball Arena

Thursday, Sept. 28 at Wild at 6 p.m. - Xcel Energy Center

Sunday, Oct. 1 vs. Stars at 5 p.m. - Ball Arena

Tuesday, Oct. 3 at Stars at 6 p.m. - American Airlines Center

    Thursday, Oct. 5 at Golden Knights at 8 p.m. - T-Mobile Arena

Single-game tickets for preseason and regular season will be available after the regular season schedule is released. All Avalanche season ticket memberships are sold out for the upcoming season.

The regular season schedule was released on July 6 last year and will be around the same time this year after the NHL Draft, which begins June 28.

Early preseason games are usually for the staff and executives to get a look at the prospects in a big-league style game. The latter games will include the majority of the starting lineup to get players ready for regular season.

Coaches and staff get a chance to assess how players fit together on lines and whether or not some players are ready for NHL play. It also gives them the idea of what players need to work on in their game.

Training camp has not been announced, as of yet, but it began on Sept. 21 in 2022. So it will most likely be around the same time frame this year.

The Avalanche opened last season at home against the Chicago Blackhawks when the Stanley Cup banner was raised to the rafters on Oct. 12.
