
Denver, Colo. - T.J. Tynan and Jack Ahcan have signed one year extensions, the Colorado Avalanche have announced on Tuesday.
Tynan, 33, spent most of his time with the Colorado Eagles in Loveland, Colorado, last season, recording 49 points (8g/41a) in 52 GP. His 8 goals placed him at fourth on the team in goals. He led the team in assists, ranking 9th among the rest of the league.
In 9 games with the Avalanche this season, the Orlando Park, Illinois native tallied a single point in the form of an assist (against the Nashville Predators on November 11th) and averaged 7:51 minutes of ice time.
Back in the 2020-21 season, Tynan became the first Eagles player in franchise history to win the AHL's MVP award, the Les Cunningham Award. He did it again as a member of the Eagles in the 2021-22 season, the fifth player in league history to earn the award in back-to-back seasons.
Ahcan, 28, played in 69 regular-season games with the Eagles during the 2024-25 season, totaling 41 points (5g/36a), points and assists coming in as career highs. His 36 assists led the blue line and his 5 goals ranked second among his fellow defensemen on the team.
In the two games he dressed for in the Calder Cup Playoffs, he contributed a single assist.
The Savage, Minnesota native has played in 272 AHL games between the Eagles and his time with the Providence Bruins. He's appeared in 11 NHL games in his career, his most recent being two games with the Avalanche coming in April at the end of the season before playoffs.
