The Colorado Avalanche sent Ryan Johansen to the Philadelphia Flyers for Sean Walker and a draft pick on each side.

The Colorado Avalanche traded forward Ryan Johansen and a first-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft for defenseman Sean Walker and a fifth-round pick in the 2026 NHL Draft from the Philadelphia Flyers. The 2025 first-round pick going to Philadelphia is top-10 protected.

Walker has 22 points in 63 games and is a plus-9. It is the highest he has posted since the 2019-20 season with the Los Angeles Kings. 

The 5-foot-11, 191-pound defenseman was traded to the Flyers by Los Angeles with Cal Peterson, Helge Grans and a second-round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft for Ivan Provorov and Hayden Hodgson on June 6, 2023. In 232 games with the Kings, he earned 67 points.  

The Keswick, Ontario, native was undrafted and played collegiate hockey at Bowling Green State University from 2013-17, serving as team captain from 2015-17. 

Ryan Johansen tallied 23 points in 63 games with the Avalanche this season. The 31-year-old center was traded to Colorado by Nashville for Alex Galchenyuk on June 24, 2023.
