The Avalanche rookies will play in Los Angeles ahead of the veterans' return to the ice for training camp.

The Colorado Avalanche will open training camp on Sept. 19 at Family Sports Center in Centennial, following the rookie tournament in Los Angeles. 

Avs rookies will skate at the Family Sports practice facility on Sept. 12 before heading to California. The roster and schedule for the tournament are listed below. 

Sept. 13: Colorado vs. Anaheim, 4:30 p.m. MT
Sept. 14: Seattle vs. Colorado, 4:00 p.m. MT
Sept. 16: Colorado vs. San Jose, 12:30 p.m. MT

The veterans will kick off the 2024-25 season with the Avalanche Charity Golf Classic at The Ridge at Castle Pines North on Sept. 16. Players and staff will field questions from media ahead of training camp on Media Day, Sept. 18. 

The Avs training camp at Family Sports is open to the public on a first-come basis. Here is the schedule. 

Thursday, Sept. 19

Group 1 on ice: 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. 
Group 2 on ice: 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. 

Friday, Sept. 20

Group 2 on ice: 9:00 – 11:00 a.m.
Group 1 on ice: 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. 

Saturday, Sept. 21

Group 1 on ice: 8:45 – 10:30 a.m.
Group 2 on ice: 12:00 p.m. – 2 p.m. 

Sunday, Sept. 22

Group 2 on ice: 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. Group 1 on ice: 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. 

The training camp rosters have not yet been made available but will be posted when they are released. 

Colorado will face off against the Dallas Stars at 7 p.m. in the first preseason game of the year at Ball Arena on Sept. 23.
