
Gavin Brindley and Zakhar Bardakov will join roughly 40 middle school students from Bradford KNorth for a one-hour event that will promote healthy eating, daily exercise, and mental wellness.
The two Colorado Avalanche forwards will also be joined by team strength coaches Alexi Pianosi and Bobby Lucas. The event is part of AvsFit, which is an initiative of Kroenke Sports Charities that promotes fitness, nutrition, and mental health education for youth with the goal of promoting an active lifestyle.
The event will take place Wednesday, November 19, 2025, from approximately 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Drill House Sports Center, located at 6901 South Peoria Street, Centennial, CO 80112.
Participants will work through a series of customized stations led by the Avalanche coaches and players, including agility drills, cardio exercises, and strength-training activities similar to those used in team practices. The hands-on format allows students to get personalized guidance while staying active and engaged in a fun, motivating environment.
The 21-year-old Brindley signed a two-year contract extension with the Avalanche less than a week ago. The former 2023 second-round pick has recorded four goals and three assists for seven points in 17 games this season.
Bardakov, who played for five seasons in the KHL before coming to North America to sign a one-year, entry-level contract with the Avalanche for the 2025–26 season, scored his first career NHL goal on October 29 when the Avs defeated the New Jersey Devils 8-4 to snap their eight-game winning streak. He four points in 14 games played, including three assists.
