The Colorado Avalanche look to maintain their excellent position in the Western Conference tonight as they play against the New York Rangers. The Rangers are one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference, sporting a 30-16-3 record and 63 points.

Conversely the Avalanche are second in the Western Conference with a 32-14-3 record and 67 points. They are also 7-3-0 in their last 10 games and presently on a three game win streak.
All those factors considered, this should be a great match up.

The Avalanche will get a new addition to their lineup tonight. Zach Parise will be inserted into the roster. He will begin the Avalanche chapter of his career on a line with Ryan Johansen and Artturi Lehkonen — the team's second line.

Alexandar Georgiev will be the starting goalie while Jonathan Quick will start in net for the Rangers. Game time is 5 p.m. MT.
