Colorado Avalanche head coach Jared Bednar responded to Sheldon Keefe.
Following the Colorado Avalanche's 5-3 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs, Sheldon Keefe had some kind words to say about the Nathan MacKinnon line and the Cale Makar/Devon Toews pairing.
The Maple Leafs' bench boss said this about the Avalanche's top stars: "When MacKinnon's line gets out there with Makar and Toews. That's not the NHL. That's another league." Now, Avalanche's head coach, Jared Bednar, has responded to Keefe's comments.
When asked about Keefe's comments, Bednar simply responded by saying, "I've been telling you guys that for five years."
Although this was a humorous response by Bednar, it is also entirely correct. MacKinnon, Makar, Toews, and Mikko Rantanen have worked wonderfully together during the Avalanche's run as a top-tier team in the league. Meanwhile, after a rocky start with the Avs, Jonathan Drouin is now fitting in perfectly and making a big difference, too.
Now, the MacKinnon line and Makar/Toews pairing will look to keep up their dominant play from here. They are massive reasons for the Avalanche's immense success this campaign, and it should only continue.
