    The 25-year-old completed his first professional year with the Colorado Eagles this past season.

    The Colorado Avalanche agreed to another year with 25-year-old defenseman Wyatt Aamodt on Tuesday.

    Aamodt completed his first professional season with the Colorado Eagles this past season. He earned 18 points (3g/15a) in 52 games played, and notched an assist in a Calder Cup Playoff game.

    The 6-foot, 204-pound blueliner has played in 55 career American Hockey League games and 16 postseason contests since he was signed as a free agent by Colorado on April 12, 2022.

    In his four years at Minnesota State University, Mankato from 2018-22, Aamodt earned 29 points (10g/19a) in 123 games. He was part of the Mavericks’ three WCHA regular-season championships and the CCHA regular-season title in 2022. He also helped the team win a 2019 WCHA conference tournament championship and a 2022 CCHA conference tournament championship.

    Aamodt ranked second among team defensemen with six goals in his career collegiate season. He served as captain his senior year and scored a hat trick in a 7-1 win over Ferris State on Jan. 7, becoming the first Minnesota State defenseman in more than 20 years to do so.

    The Hermantown, Minnesota native played in the United States Hockey League with the Chicago Steel and Lincoln Stars from 2016-18. He tallied 46 points (5g/41a) in 115 games.
