Colorado's elite forward continues to break and set new records this season — his latest for scoring on home ice.

Nathan MacKinnon has now scored at least a point in every of the 35 games at Ball Arena this season. Only Wayne Gretzky holds a higher number of home games scored in from the start of the season at 40 with the Los Angeles Kings in 1989-90.
MacKinnon's 77 points on home ice is the most in the NHL and a franchise record. It is the most points scored on home ice since Pittsburgh Penguins teammates Mario Lemieux (104) and Jaromir Jagr (83) in 1995-96.
The 28-year-old elite center also extended his overall point streak to 19 games, his second of that length this season. Nineteen games is his career best and he became the first player in NHL history to record two different 19-game point streaks in the same season.
MacKinnon has 122 points which broke Joe Sakic's Avalanche record of 120 in a season and sits behind the franchise leader Peter Stastny (139).
"I mean, this guy's a phenomenal player, right? But that's pretty good company when you're talking about our boss [Sakic]," head coach Jared Bednar said. "It's, you know, [Sakic] had such a phenomenal career and then you watch what Nate's doing, you know, and it just speaks to who Nate is as a player and what he's capable of."
