As a result, it makes sense that he wants to get a goalie with a bit more experience for the backup role. Georgiev, on the other hand, has appeared in 37 out of the Avalanche's 45 games this season already. That's a ton of work for a goaltender this early on in the season, and he has struggled a bit with consistency this season because of it (.898 SV%). The goalie trade market has some decent backup options like Marc-Andre Fleury (Minnesota Wild), Jake Allen (Montreal Canadiens), Kaapo Kahkonen (San Jose Sharks), and Karel Vejmelka (Arizona Coyotes).
