The Jackets are in Colorado to take on the Avalanche in a game of winless teams.
Sean Monahan and Adam Fantilli share a birthday today, and will hopefully be celebrating with a win tonight against the high-powered Avalanche. Columbus comes into Denver having been beaten by the Minnesota Wild 3-2. Kent Johnson and Zach Werenski provided the offense for the CBJ.
The Avalanche lost their season opener by a score of 8-4 to Vegas. Mikko Rantanen had a hat trick against the Vegas Golden Knights, while Cale Makar, Nathan MacKinnon, and Sam Girard all had two points.
Colorado goalie Alexandar Georgiev got touched up for five goals.
