The Columbus Blue Jackets welcome the Philadelphia Flyers into Nationwide Arena for the first of two meetings at home, and four overall.

The Philadelphia Flyers are in Columbus tonight to take on the Blue Jackets for the first time this season.

The Flyers come to Columbus after dropping their last three games and going 4-4-2 in their previous ten games.

Philadelphia gives up too many goals, and that can't make John Tortorella happy. They're 27th in the league to be exact. The Jackets score a lot, which isn't a good recipe for the Flyers. The CBJ are 9th in the league in scoring with 92 goals and 3.41 goals per game. They've scored a whopping 52 goals at home in 12 games, which is a 4.33 goals-per-game average.

The Blue Jackets are 8-3-1 at home. Their 8 wins are tied for second in the Metro for most home wins. The Flyers are 6-4-3 on the road, so this could end up being a really good game.

Both teams give up a lot of penalty minutes, but the Flyers PK is 11th in the league, so the Jackets would be wise to capitalize on their man advantages. The Jackets have been taking way too many penalties lately, but luckily the Flyers' PP is not very good.

Where this game will be won is 5-on-5. The Blue Jackets are third in the NHL with 67 goals scored 5v5 and it will be hard for Philadelphia to stop the Jackets, especially at home.

The Flyers are currently 6th in the Metro, 10th in the East, and 22nd in the NHL.
