The Columbus Blue Jackets and Philadelphia Flyers have faced off 52 times in their all-time history.
Over those meetings, Columbus holds a slight edge, with a 27-19-3-3 all-time record. The record breakdown for those unfamiliar with a record that reflects a tie is 27 W, 19 L, 3 T, and 3 OTL.
Meanwhile, the Blue Jackets have had their fair share of success against the Flyers. Both teams find themselves in similar positions these days. They are both working their way out of a rebuild and looking to contend for a playoff spot.
Despite the positive overall record, there’s one glaring problem for Columbus when they face Philadelphia: Travis Konecny.
The Flyers forward has been a consistent thorn in the Blue Jackets’ side, earning the nickname from my colleague Jason Newland "Jackets Killer."
In just 27 games against the Blue Jackets, he has tallied 32 points, including key goals and game-changing plays. Whether it’s a clutch assist or a big-time goal, he always seems to find a way to impact the game when these two teams meet.
His performances often come when the Flyers need a spark, making him a nightmare for the Blue Jackets. Columbus will need to find a way to contain him if they want to keep collecting wins against Philadelphia
As both teams prepare to face off again tonight, all eyes will be on how they handle the "Jackets Killer" while trying to maintain their strong overall record in the Flyers.
