Columbus Play-By-Play Announcer Bob McElligott Reports That Adam Fantilli Was Cut In Game Against The Kraken
According to Columbus Blue Jacket play-by-play announcer Bob McElligott, he believes the injury to Adam Fantilli was a cut that will require some healing. The comments were made today on his Monday Mailbag on X Spaces.
Per multiple reports after the game, Fantilli was seen in a walking boot with crutches. McElligott says he believes "the worst-case scenario was avoided" in this situation. The fears early were that it was an Achilles injury, but no one knew for sure. He did also say that he will most likely miss the game tomorrow vs. the St. Louis Blues. After Tuesday, the Jackets don't play again until February 10th, so he could be able to heal and come back then if it's not too bad. We are waiting for the team announcement.
Adam Fantilli currently sits second on the team in scoring with 12-15-27. He's also 6 points behind Connor Bedard for the rookie scoring lead, in 4th place.
Next Up: The Blue Jackets finish up a 5 game road trip in St. Louis against the Blues.
