Leo Carlsson make his first visit to Columbus

The Anaheim Ducks come into Columbus having lost three games in a row, the Jackets have won two straight, so something has to give. They're also 0-2 on the road in the young season.

The Ducks have won four straight in the series, but usually, the CBJ have the upper hand at home. The Jackets are coming into this game having played two really good games back-to-back against the Wild and Flames.

The Duck's most recent game was played at home which saw them lose to the Boston Bruins 3-1. Goalie John Gibson took the loss for the Ducks. Leo Carlsson, the #2 overall pick, was held out of the game for load management reasons. You can read about the load management discussion here. He has one point on the season, a goal.

Game Notes

  • The Jackets will be without the services of Center Patrik Laine, as he was placed on IR Monday. As a reminder, he was tagged up high by Rasmus Andersson of the Calgary Flames last Friday night. Andersson was suspended four games, but with the help of the NHLPA he is appealing the ruling. Commissioner Gary Bettman is expected to make a decision soon on whether to continue with the four games or knock it down.
  • Dmitri Voronkov has been called up by the CBJ. Voronkov has been playing with the Monsters and has a single point on the season.
  • Yegor Chinakhov skated in practice on Monday. He's been dealing with a back injury that has kept him out all season.
  • Sean Kuraly took a maintenance on Monday, while Chinakhov took his place.
  • The lines remained the same in practice on Monday as they were in Saturday's game. I would expect the lineup to be the same.

REMINDER - The game is an early start, 6:30 p.m.
