Zach Werenski has been put on IR by the Blue Jackets today. He's listed as week-to-week per the CBJ. He was injured during Wednesday's game against the New Jersey Devils in the second period. He got tied up with Ondrej Palat and went down awkwardly. He crawled to the bench and couldn't put any weight on his leg after he was able to get up.
The scene has been described by many as "gut-wrenching." Werenski has had terrible luck with injuries, from multiple shoulder surgeries, a puck in the face, and then in this year's season opener when Philly's Garnet Hathaway kneed him in the thigh, which caused him to miss a few games.
HC Pascal Vincent said yesterday that Werenski's injury was more of a week-to-week situation.
Zach Werenski has 24 assists and 25 points on the season.
