The Columbus Blue Jackets have had many players don the Union Blue in its history. The #14 has only been worn a handful of times though. 

Let's look at the players that have worn the number.

Who Wore It First?

  • Ray Whitney - Whitney played 151 games as a Jacket and was the Captain for one. After his time with Columbus, he went on to play for another 10 years and 1,330 games. He retired in 2014. 

Who Wore It Last?

  • Gustav Nyquist - Nyquist played 200 games as a Jacket before being traded to the Minnesota Wild in 2023. During his time in Columbus, which included a missed season due to injury, he scored 43 goals and had 117 points. He now plays for the Nashville Predators. 

Who Wore It Best?

  • Ray Whitney - Whitney played 151 games for Columbus, scored 45 goals, and totaled 140 points. During the one year he was the Captain, he scored 24 goals and totaled 76 points, which set a CBJ record. 

Others That Have Worn #14

  • Greg Mauldin - Played 6 games for Columbus and had no points. He went on to play 30 more NHL games after leaving Columbus. After leaving for Europe, he played until 2024 but is without a contract for 24-25 thus far. 
  • Raffi Torres - Torres played 111 games for the Jackets and had 51 points. He retired in 2015. 
  • Blake Comeau - Comeau played 70 games and had 21 points for the CBJ. He would go on to play 909 games in the NHL and retired during the 21-22 season. 
  • Grant Clitsome - He played 93 games for Columbus and had 36 points. He retired with the Winnipeg Jets in 2015. 
  • Dean Kukan - Kukan played 153 games for the Jackets and had 30 points. He has returned to Switzerland and plays for the ZSC Lions of the Swiss National League.
