Boone Jenner(21), Alex Nylander(7,8), and Johnny Gaudreau(11) provided the offense, while the red-hot Daniil Tarasov turned in a stellar performance in goal to stop the visiting San Jose Sharks on Saturday night.
If this game is against any other team, the Jackets most likely lose this game. The San Jose Sharks outplayed the Blue Jackets for most of this game and poured on the shots in the third with a total of 19, but Tarasov stood tall and thwarted all but one Shark shot.
We are seeing Alex Nylander get his shot, and he is not letting it pass him by. As you can see from the CBJ PR tweet below, Nylander is hot. He came to Columbus just looking to jump-start his career and start over, instead what he's done is earned himself a spot playing with Johnny Gaudreau and Boone Jenner on the top line. He's an RFA at the end of this season and may get himself a healthy raise, and good for him.
Daniil Tarasov continues his outstanding play as of late, stopping all but 2 San Jose shots and making some key saves to keep the CBJ on the right side of the score. He's now 4-3 in the last 7 starts, making one relief appearance, and has a save % of .944. Is this the real deal Daniil Tarasov?
