The Blue Jackets are 1-0 in the preseason with three games to play.
Preseason game #1 went about as expected for both teams last night. There were no goals and lots of penalties, and that was about it.
In a game that featured just six CBJ regulars, it was more of a game to see what the young kids were going to do.
On defense, Boston Buckberger stood out as a guy who you could never miss when he was on the ice.
On offense, it was more of a struggle, with no one really standing out. Aside from Tuch and McCue fighting, and Malatesta hitting everyone that moved, it was a pretty boring game offensively.
Injuries
Defenseman Dante Fabbro was lost to an upper-body injury after playing a little over 8 minutes. The CBJ announced his departure from the game and that he would not return. Coach Bowness, who was asked after the game about Fabbro's status, said he would be reevaluated Tuesday morning. The Jackets can ill afford to start collecting injuries this soon into preseason.
