The Columbus Blue Jackets have announced that forward Sean Monahan will miss an additional 6-8 weeks due to a wrist injury he suffered on Jan. 7.
The injury occurred in a game against the Pittsburgh Penguins, during a stretch when Monahan was playing some of the best hockey of his career.
Monahan has dealt with injury issues in the past, and while he was enjoying an injury-free season, he will now be sidelined for the next month or two as he recovers from his wrist injury.
It looks like Monahan will return after the March 7, 2025, NHL Trade Deadline, which means the Blue Jackets will more than likely look to replace him via trade until he returns to the lineup.
What's Next: The Blue Jackets have a four-day break and will travel to Vegas next Thursday to play the Golden Knights.
