CBJ Quick Game Recap

The Blue Jackets have now lost five straight games at home against the Washington Capitals, and Alex Ovechkin scored in the process. What's new?

Ovechkin hadn't scored since November 18th when he scored against the CBJ. So everyone in the building knew, that he would score on Thursday night. So, what would end up being a wild OT period that ended with Washington on the power play, of course, Ovechkin would win the game. With 53 seconds left in overtime, he stood in his familiar spot, waiting for his chance, and he got it. He didn't miss.

Cole Sillinger and Yegor Chinakhov were the goal scorers for Columbus. Chinakhov's goal would extend his points streak to six games while pushing his goal total to nine. And after what would amount to a really good hockey game, it would be remembered for Elvis Merzlikins and Tom Wilson getting into what could've been deemed a fight. But only Elvis would get the penalty for some reason.

Elvis had some things to say about the incident after the game with the media.
