Del Bel Belluz was drafted in 2022 as the 44th overall pick.

The Columbus Blue Jackets have recalled forward Luca Del Bel Belluz from the Cleveland Monsters. Del Bel Belluz's recall comes two days after Sean Monahan was injured against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Monahan's injury is described as an upper-body injury and is assumed to be a wrist injury after he was spotted wearing a brace.

Del Bel Belluz has played one career game with Columbus, coming back on April 16th of last season. He played 9:35, had two shots, and one goal.

For Cleveland, LDBB has been the best player on the ice. He leads the AHL scoring with 37 points, scoring 17 goals and recording 20 assists. He also has five power-play goals. He was also named to the AHL North Division All-Star team today as well.

Dean Evason on Luca Del Bel Belluz: “He’s earned the right to be here. Trent has told us he’s doing all the right things in his development, not only offensively, because you can see the numbers, but he’s doing the right things defensively as well.”

If Monahan can't go for multiple games, this could be LDBB's chance to prove he's NHL-ready.

What's Next - The Jackets are back home on Thursday to welcome in the Seattle Kraken.
