Aston-Reese was undrafted out of Staten Island, New York.
The Columbus Blue Jackets have recalled forward Zach Aston-Reese from the Cleveland Monsters today.
Aston-Reese last played for the CBJ on January 20th against Ottawa. He was put on waivers for the purpose of assigning him to the Monsters. He cleared and has been there ever since.
In Cleveland, he's played 25 games. He's scored 7 goals and has totaled 14 points and has 15 PIMs.
In total, Aston-Reese has played 105 games for Columbus and has 22 points.
This call-up is after a strong of injuries in the last four games for Columbus. After losing Isac Lundestrom last night to an undisclosed injury, Don Waddell was forced to recall yet another forward. Just Monday, the CBJ had to call up Luca Del Bel Belluz as well after losing Mathieu Olivier and Dmitri Voronkov to injuries that will keep them out on a week-to-week basis.
Next Up For Columbus: The Blue Jackets are in Raleigh to face the Carolina Hurricanes on Thursday.
