The young defenseman should get his shot to play decent NHL minutes

The Blue Jackets announced today the signing of Defenseman Jake Christiansen to a one-year, two way extension for the 2023-24 season.

The young defenseman has tallied one goal and four assists in 32 NHL games, since he was first called up during the 2021-22 season.

For the Cleveland Monsters, Christiansen has played 149 games. He has totaled 27-67-94 so far in his young career. He has played fairly well for Cleveland, scoring at a .63 ppg pace. His ppg dipped a tad last season from .73 to .68, but he also played in 3 times as many games for Columbus last season, than he did the year before.

I think this is an excellent depth extension for the CBJ, and fans should probably see him a good chunk again this season, as they figure out what they have on defense.
