The Columbus Blue Jackets prospect has a big opportunity in front of him.
Earlier this week, the Columbus Blue Jackets recalled prospect Luca Del Bel Belluz from their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Cleveland Monsters. With the 22-year-old forward having such a strong season in the AHL, it makes sense that he is getting another chance on Columbus' roster.
In 53 games this season with Cleveland, Del Bel Belluz has recorded 22 goals, 35 assists, and 57 points. He also has four goals and nine points in his last seven AHL games alone.
Now, with this call-up, there is no question that Del Bel Belluz has a golden opportunity in front of him. This call-up will allow him the chance to show the Blue Jackets what he can do. If he impresses, it would certainly be beneficial for the 2023 second-round pick.
Del Bel Belluz will be in the lineup for the Blue Jackets against the Carolina Hurricanes and is expected to play alongside Adam Fantilli and Kirill Marchenko. It will be interesting to see how much of an impact he can make against the Hurricanes from here.
In 13 games so far this season with Columbus, Del Bel Belluz has recorded one assist and 10 blocks.
