Columbus Blue Jackets prospect Luca Del Bel Belluz had a solid season at the American Hockey League (AHL) level with the Cleveland Monsters in 2024-25. After posting nine goals and 31 points in 58 games with Cleveland in 2023-24, the 6-foot-1 forward had 27 goals and 53 points in 61 games for the Monsters last season.
Yet, as well as Del Bel Belluz played last season, he is only continuing to get better this campaign.
Del Bel Belluz is in the middle of an excellent season with the Monsters this campaign. In 45 games with Cleveland so far, he has 18 goals, 30 assists, and 48 points. With numbers like these, there is no question that he is making a big impact for the Monsters this campaign. This is especially so when noting that he leads the AHL club in goals, assists, and points.
Del Bel Belluz was also rewarded earlier this season for his strong play with the Monsters, as he was named an AHL All-Star for the second year in a row. He also appeared in his first 13 career NHL games for the Blue Jackets this season, where he recorded one assist.
With how Del Bel Belluz is playing this season with the Monsters, it is hard not to feel excited about his future with the Blue Jackets. The young forward has the skill to become a solid player for Columbus later down the road, and it will be fascinating to see how he builds on his strong season with Cleveland from here.
