Werenski was asked if he was getting "close" regarding when he might play again, he says "Yeah, Im getting close. Im hoping to play at some point here in the next few games. We got practice here in a bit, so I'll do that and take it from there and see where I'm at. But definitely getting close."
He was asked again towards the end of the interview if he might play on the current 5-game road trip, Werenski said "I'll practice today and see how I feel, how I kind of react to it the rest of the day today, and tomorrow morning. We'll make a decision at that point, but obviously, I want to play. I wanted to play yesterday. Still a little sore. We'll see how I feel and go from there. Obviously, I'm trying to play as quickly as I can."
The Jackets need Zach Werenski back in the lineup as soon as he can go.
Werenski also gives his opinions on last night's game versus Edmonton, Dmitri Voronkov, and the mental aspects of injuries, and coming back from them.
