When Boone Jenner went down to a shoulder injury before the season started, people who follow the CBJ all shouted, "Here we go again!"

Jenner had surgery to fix a torn up shoulder caused by losing an edge and slamming into the boards in training camp. He would end up missing 56 games.

His goal was to return in time for the Stadium Series game on March 1st, and he did just that.

Boone Jenner made his season debut on Feb. 22 against the Chicago Blackhawks, and Nationwide Arena welcomed him back with a long, loud "BOOOOOOOONE!"

Since his return, Jenner has played like his hair is on fire.

He's played in four games so far against Chicago and Dallas and twice against Detroit. One would think that he would come back a little slow while trying to get into game shape, but no, that's not how Boone Jenner operates.

Take a look at Jenner's stats since his return:

    • 7 assists - he had 3 against Detroit on the road
    • Plus-7 Rating
    • 9 shots - Including 7 against Detroit at LCA
    • 16:59 average ice time
    • A total of 7 hits

He's been fairly physical since he's been back, although not as much as normal, it doesn't seem. But it's well within his right to go a little easy on that shoulder.

Jenner was also put on the wing when he came back, which is a welcome sight for people who follow the team and want him to play the wing, especially since guys like Adam Fantilli and Cole Sillinger are playing so well. But then, another injury happened that caused Jenner to be moved back to center. Cole Sillinger suffered an injury against Detroit last Thursday that put him out of commission for the time being. Since his return to center early in the first Detroit game, Jenner has 5 points, a plus-4, and was being the playmaker he's been known for in the past.

Some say getting back Jenner was like making a trade deadline move, and so far, it's been working out.

Boone Jenner is back, and it couldn't have come at a better time for the CBJ.
