When Dmitri Voronkov scored the first goal of the game, fans at a Blue Jackets watch party exploded. The Jackets were playing a team, admittedly on a hot streak, that everyone thought they could beat. Boy were they wrong.
Two and a half minutes after Voronkov's goal, Brady Tkachuk scored his first of three goals on the night. Five minutes after that goal, the score was 3-1 Sens. There was a five minute avalanche of goals that did the Jackets in. Columbus was never able to recover from giving up three goals in five minutes. The Sens scored a goal in every situation including a 5v5 goal, a power play goal, and a shorthanded goal.
The Senators would score early in the second to make it 4-1 in what would be the game winner. The Jackets would score two times in four minutes to make it interesting though. Boone Jenner and Jack Roslovic both scored to bring the score to 4-3, but after that they could muster no more offense.
The Ottawa Senators would beat the Jackets 6-3 on Tuesday night. The Senators have now won four straight games.
Boone Jenner had himself a night in a loss.
