Carolina Scores 17 Seconds Into The Game, Columbus Held Scoreless As Hurricanes Strong Arm The Blue Jackets

Malcolm Subban played fairly well in his NHL return, stopping 32 of 35 Hurricanes shots. Unfortunately for the Blue Jackets, giving up a goal 17 seconds in against one of the best teams in the league isn't a recipe for success.

The Jackets were dominated in every aspect of this game, and there aren't a lot of positives to take from the game other than the play of Subban. Stopping a 5-on-3 for over a minute against the second-ranked power play was the key to keeping this game somewhat close.
