Columbus Activates Zach Werenski Off Of IR; Send David Jiricek To Cleveland

The Blue Jackets have announced that Zach Werenski will return to the lineup tonight against the Calgary Flames. Werenski said yesterday in a radio interview "I'll practice today and see how I feel, how I kind of react to it the rest of the day today, and tomorrow morning. We'll make a decision at that point, but obviously, I want to play."

The return of Werenski leaves just Patrik Laine remaining on IR. Laine is also expected to return in the next few games. Werenski currently has 1 goal and 25 points on the season.

David Jiricek has also been sent back to Cleveland. Jiricek was just recently recalled by Columbus after being sent to the Monsters last week. He has 9 points this season for Columbus. GM Jarmo Kekalainen said in a radio interview on Tuesday,  "He's earned his spot on our team. He's been back in Cleveland a couple times this year because if he's not in the lineup, we want him playing."

David Jiricek should probably be playing in Columbus at this point.
