The first-ever game (kind of) between the Columbus Blue Jackets and Utah Hockey Club (hopefully soon-to-be Outlaws) will happen tonight at the Delta Center.
As Utah welcomes Columbus into Salt Lake City, they do so having dropped their last three games, and 6 of 9 overall. They're 4-5-1 in their last 10 games and are just 8-11-5 at home. You'd figure a new team in a new city would be really good at home, but it's the opposite. UHC is good on the road with a 13-10-3 record away from Delta Center.
Utah gives up a lot of penalties, to the tune of 29th in the NHL to be exact. So, when it comes to giving the Jackets power plays, Columbus needs to take full advantage of those man advantages, especially on the road. The UHC PK is actually pretty good at 8th in the league, but that's probably because they've been on the PK so much.
The Blue Jackets beat a very good Vegas team last night and were able to take the short flight to SLC and get in quickly, so the CBJ should have their legs early in this game. They need to jump on the Utah's early and build a lead so they can get out of there with two points.
