Fantilli was drafted third overall in the 2023 NHL Draft.
The Columbus Blue Jackets have announced that they've signed forward Adam Fantilli to a multi-year extension. The deal is for six years, $82.5 million! That's an average of $13.75 milion AAV.
The deal comes as many CBJ fans were on edge about whether or not the young star would get signed at all.
Per Don Waddell via PR release, “Adam Fantilli has all of the tools you look for in a player – speed, size, skill – along with a competitive drive to succeed,” said Waddell. “He is one of the most exciting young players in the NHL and a big part of what we are building in Columbus, so this is a very exciting day for our organization and our fans.“
Fantilli has 140 points in 213 career games. Last season, he set career highs in assists, points, power play points, TOI, and most importantly, faceoff %. His faceoff % rose to 49.8% after only hitting 41.2 in his second year.
With the possible departure of Kirill Marchenko, Adam Fantilli will be expected to take a major step forward and be the man on offense for the CBJ.
Everyone can now relax, Fantilli is here to stay for at least a few years.
