Columbus Collapses Early As Cayden Primeau Shuts Out The Visiting Blue Jackets

The game was over in the first 5:48, end of story.

The Montreal Canadiens scored 3 times in their first 4 shots and chased starting goalie Elvis Merzlikins to shutout the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday night. Daniil Tarasov continued to play well by stopping all 19 shots he faced in relief.

Although the Jackets generated 98 shot attempts and 41 shots on goal, Cayden Primeau stood tall as his team would block 32 Columbus shots in the game. Zach Werenski led the game in shots on goal and ice time for both teams, but couldn't get anything past Primeau.

Outside of those first few minutes, the Jackets didn't play half bad, but Primeau was the star of the game in this one.

As former Columbus coach John Tortorella would say, "Burn the Tape!"
