The NHL has released its slate of games that will be on TNT and the ESPN Networks in the United States.
Of those games, the Columbus Blue Jackets will have only one game on national TV, and that will be the outdoor game at the Shoe on March 1st, 2025.
There's a problem with the NHL, and it needs to be fixed. There is no reason why ANY team in the league should be on national TV only once. However, people who follow the Jackets will also tell you that they don't care if games are on national TV or not, as they want to hear the local play-by-play guys instead.
Understandably, certain markets get more games, but should they? The people who argue this fact always point to wins and losses, but that can't be it, right? Certain teams have been just as bad, or even worse than Columbus the last few years, and they have double-digit games.
With the uncertainty surrounding Bally Sports, teams are starting to take measures to ensure their fans can watch the games, both home and away. So far, the Jackets haven't done that, so what happens if Bally shuts down in the middle of the season?
Television coverage is a major hot topic of all sports right now, so seeing a team being completely left off is concerning.
