Columbus has announced the recall of defenseman Jake Christiansen. This comes on the heels of Adam Boqvist playing just over a minute on Thursday night before leaving due to injury.
Jake Christiansen has 35 NHL games to his credit over the last three seasons, with 24 of those coming in the 22-23 season. In that season he had 4 assists. This season Christiansen has played in three games and has 1 assist.
Christiansen has been a major factor for the Cleveland Monsters blueline since he signed in 2020. He has played in 194 games for the Monsters and has a stat line of 40-94-134. He also currently sits third in Monsters history in scoring with 134 points and sits 59 points behind Cleveland great, and current fellow CBJ call-up Trey Fix-Wolansky.
The injury bug continues to plague the Columbus Blue Jackets. Many fans of the Cleveland Monsters would rather the Jackets not call up the stars from Cleveland, but the ones that have gotten the call have earned it.
