The Columbus Blue Jackets have announced that they have loaned defenseman Denton Mateychuk to the Cleveland Monsters today. 

Don Waddell has mentioned many times that he likes his young players to get AHL experience, so this should come as no surprise. 

The 12th overall pick in 2022 will have every opportunity to play well in Cleveland and will force the Jackets to call him up at some point this season. 

Now the question is whether David Jiříček starts in Columbus on October 10th.
