The training camp roster now sits at 32 players.
Columbus announced today that they have reduced the training camp roster by seven players. The roster now has 19 forwards, 10 defensemen, and 3 goaltenders.
- Luca Del Bel Belluz - Loaned to Cleveland
- James Malatesta - Loaned to Cleveland
- Cole Clayton - Loaned to Cleveland
- Stanislav Svozil - Loaned to Cleveland
- Zach Sawchenko - Loaned to Cleveland
- Jake Gaudet - Returned on an AHL contract
- Trey Fix-Wolansky - Put on waivers for the purpose of assignment
The Blue Jackets return home tomorrow to play the Pittsburgh Penguins. There are still some players on the roster that many did not expect. Players like Mikael Pyyhtiä, Owen Sillinger, and Dylan Gabrell will all have a shot at the opening night roster on the offensive side of things. Meanwhile, David Jiříček and Denton Mateychuk both are still in Columbus and will have one, possibly two more games to prove that they're worthy of an opening night roster spot.
