1st Period
The game got started with a quick goal by the Panthers as Ryan Lomberg scored at 2:17 into the first. Elvis originally blocked the initial shot, but Lomberg snuck one by him.
3:09 into the first, Gustav Forsling launched one from distance that Elvis failed to stop. 2-0 Panthers. The CBJ are being completely steamrolled early in the game. 6:09 into the game Aleksander Barkov scored to make it 3-0. Elvis was yanked for Spencer Martin.

2nd Period
The first five minutes of the second period were in stark contrast to the first period. There is much more back-and-forth play, although the Panthers have had a few good chances in close on Spencer Martin. 8:44 into the second, the Jackets were given a PP for delay of game. Kirill Marchenko scored to tie the game at 3, assisted by Ivan Provorov and Alex Texier.
Jackets goalie Spencer Martin has been great since he entered the game, stopping every shot that the Cats have slung his way. It feels like the CBJ have had the puck the entire period to this point, but the Panthers have still put more shots on goal than the Jackets have.
With 3:12 left in the period, Alex Texier went to the box for cross-checking, giving the Panthers their first PP of the game. The Jackets would kill off the Panthers PP keeping it tied at 3. Spencer Martin has been perfect since coming into the game.

3rd Period
Early in the third, Adam Fantilli started throwing some big hits. The hits led to Dmitri Voronkov and former Jacket Kevin Stenlund roughing each other up. Both went to the box but the Jackets ended up on the power play. Fantilli's hit on Carter Verhaeghe may have been a touch high, which prompted Stenlund's response. The Panthers killed off the CBJ PP.
Ten minutes into the third there have been plenty of hits and lots of action, but hardly any shots and no goals.
With 7:30 left in the third, Alexandre Texier put one past Bobrovsky. A pass was initially attempted by Texier which went off of Kulikov's skate or stick and then hit the right post. It just sat there waiting for Texier to put it in. It's 4-3 Jackets as Andrew Peeke and Cole Sillinger get the assists.
The Panthers pulled Sergei Bobrovsky with three minutes left to get the extra attacker. Nick Cousins put a puck past Spencer Martin after a very bad turnover by Ivan Provorov. The Panthers tied the game with just a minute left.
