Elliotte Friedman Says Jarmo Kekäläinen Has Interviewed With The Carolina Hurricanes

On Elliotte Friedman's 32 Thoughts podcast this morning, he says that former Columbus Blue Jackets General Manager Jarmo Kekäläinen has interviewed with the Carolina Hurricanes.

Friedman says, "I've heard Jarmo Kekäläinen is a contender in Carolina. They've been doing interviews. I had one person who wondered to me if Eric Joyce, who's doing the interviews there, he might keep the job. But I've also heard Kekäläinen's name as a contender there."

Friedman and Marek also talked about Don Waddell. They mentioned that while on their radio show Waddell says he plans to keep the GM job for himself. Marek also thinks he plans to "shepherd along someone like Rick Nash." Friedman says that he heard Waddell will be the GM "for a while."

How will a reception in Carolina be for someone like Jarmo Kekäläinen? He has a track record of great draft picks and trades. He's a little too rigid on the contract front for some, however.

How would people who follow Columbus feel about Kekäläinen going to a division team?

This one will be interesting to watch.
