No single player in the Blue Jackets' history was a bigger agitator.
Jordin Tootoo was an absolute menace to the Columbus Blue Jackets. During his NHL career, he fought the CBJ 17 times and had a total of 91 in his 13 years in the NHL. No one player has fought the Blue Jackets more in a career than Tootoo.
Tootoo played for the Nashville Predators, Detroit Red Wings, New Jersey Devils, and Chicago Blackhawks. Eight of those seasons Tootoo spent with the Preds, in the old Central Division with the Blue Jackets. In two of those seasons he was with the Red Wings, so the Jackets couldn’t get away from the guy.
During his years he fought the CBJ 17 times, and that’s by far more than any other team on his list. The closest team on his fight list to the CBJ were the St. Louis Blues with 7, and then Chicago and the Dallas Stars with six each. What was it about the Jackets that he hated so much? The Jackets weren’t good hardly ever during his years in Nashville and only made the playoffs one time, so it had to be the players.

He fought Jared Boll and Derek Dorsett more than any other player. Both Boll and Dorsett fought Tootoo three times apiece. Another former Jacket, Ole-Kristian Tollefsen fought Tootoo twice. Derek Dorsett once accused Tootoo of sucker-punching him during a game in 2013. Tootoo also had a few other issues with punching guys and getting suspended for it. While Tootoo was known as an enforcer, he was also accused of being dirty at times.
No other NHL player seemed to love fighting the Jackets more than Jordin Tootoo, and the way the league is trending, his record of 17 fights against Columbus may never be beaten. He seemed to be an absolute terror to play against just from watching the games, I can’t imagine what it was like for the players on the ice.
