He was drafted 41st overall in 2002

Former 2nd round draft pick Joakim Lindström has announced his retirement from professional hockey.

Lindström made his North American debut for the Syracuse Crunch in 2005. He would make his Columbus debut in 2006.

He would only play 37 games as a Blue Jacket scoring 4 goals and adding 4 assists. He would spend the majority of his Columbus career playing in the AHL for Syracuse. Lindström played 176 games for Syracuse, scoring 65 goals and totaling 159 points. Lindström had a very good career in the AHL, but unfortunately couldn't quite catch on with Columbus. In 2008 the CBJ would trade him to Anaheim for a draft pick.
