Former Blue Jackets forward Matt Duchene put together a strong performance for the Stars in Game 3 against the Wild.

The Dallas Stars picked up a big 4-3 double-overtime win in their Game 3 matchup against the Minnesota Wild. With this victory, the Stars now have a 2-1 series lead over the Wild.

A former Columbus Blue Jackets forward played a significant role in the Stars' win, as Matt Duchene had a big game for Dallas. Duchene scored a goal and recorded two assists in Dallas' Game 3 victory.

Duchene's goal was a very important one, as he tied the game up at 3-3 at the 10:18 mark of the third period. This is what helped the Stars force overtime. Wyatt Johnston would end up scoring the game-winner in double overtime for Dallas.

With his three-point game for the Stars, Duchene now has two goals and three assists in three games this postseason for the Central Division club. With numbers like these, it is clear that the former Blue Jackets forward is red-hot right now. He also had another strong regular season in 2025-26 with the Stars, posting 16 goals and 45 points in 57 games.

Duchene appeared in 23 games for the Blue Jackets during the 2018-19 season, where he had four goals, eight assists, and 12 points. He also played in 10 playoff games for Columbus that spring, posting five goals and 10 points. His time with the Blue Jackets ended during the 2019 NHL offseason when he signed with the Nashville Predators in free agency.
