Former Blue Jackets forward Mason Marchment has started his Sharks tenure on the right foot.
Former Columbus Blue Jackets forward Mason Marchment made his San Jose Sharks debut on Thursday night for their game against the Florida Panthers.
It is fair to say that Marchment had a good debut, as he made an immediate impact for San Jose.
During the first period of the Sharks' matchup against the Panthers, Marchment scored his first goal with the Pacific Division club. It was a nice one, too, as he beat Panthers goalie Akira Schmid with a long-distance snapshot.
Given how well Marchment played with the Blue Jackets last season, it is not too surprising to see him already making an impact for San Jose. In 39 games last season with the Blue Jackets after being acquired from the Seattle Kraken, he posted 15 goals, 17 assists, 32 points, and a plus-21 rating in 39 games.
It will now be interesting to see what kind of season Marchment can put together for the Sharks. If the former Blue Jackets forward plays for the Sharks like he did with Columbus, he should be a strong addition to their roster.
