Former Blue Jacket and Monster forward Carson Meyer has signed with the Buffalo Sabres, the team announced today. The deal will be for two years and will carry a $775,000 cap hit.
Meyer, from nearby Powell, Ohio, was a 6th round pick by Columbus in 2017. He left the Columbus Organization last season after not being offered a contract. He signed with the Anaheim Ducks and played 29 games for the AHLs San Diego Gulls, where he would record 21 points.
He played 82 games for Columbus and had 12 points. For Cleveland, he played in 172 games and had a total of 110 points.
So if you're a fan of Meyer, you may get to see him play again in Cleveland this season. Or, if he makes the big club, will get to play in his hometown Nationwide Arena.
