Former Columbus Blue Jackets goalie Spencer Martin recorded his first shutout in his career.
Martin now plays for the Carolina Hurricanes and was called up to replace Fredrik Andersen and Pyotr Kochetkov, who are both injured.
He was tasked to take on the Ottawa Senators, who have been very good this season and yet to be shut out. However, after a great performance by Martin, the Hurricanes handed the Senators their first shutout this season.
Martin, 29, started his career with the Colorado Avalanche and then played for the Vancouver Canucks, Carolina Hurricanes, and Blue Jackets.
In 53 career starts, he has a record of 21-27-7 along with a .885 SV% and a 3.55 GAA.
