Former Columbus Blue Jackets and Cleveland Monsters forward Ryan MacInnis has signed a new deal.

Ryan MacInnis has signed a deal with Kölner Haie of the DEL. He has spent the last three seasons playing in Germany. His father is Hall-of-Fame defenseman Al MacInnis, who played in over 1,400 NHL Games.

Per a press release, Haie Sports Director Matthias Baldys says, "We are very pleased to have Ryan MacInnis on our team with immediate effect. Ryan is a versatile player who can play as a center or winger. He can also play in a variety of roles in all game situations. With his size , Ryan also brings a physical presence and already knows the league well from his three years in Mannheim."

MacInnis said in a statement, "It was an easy decision for me to sign with the Haie. The KEC is a large and traditional club with passionate fans. Last season, the Haie made a statement by finishing second. I'm really looking forward to this time and can't wait to get to know the KEC and the city of Cologne."

MacInnis has played in 27 NHL games, which included 26 for the Blue Jackets. He registered one assist. 

He also played for the Cleveland Monsters, where he played in 121 games and had 56 points. He played in 8 playoff games for Cleveland as well. 

He played the last three seasons for Adler Mannheim of the DEL, where he scored 21 goals, and totaled 51 points.
