The former 3rd round pick of the Vancouver Canucks gets another shot in the AHL.

Former Monster Cole Cassels has signed a contract with the San Jose Barracuda. Cassels, son of former Blue Jacket Andrew Cassels played one season in the Columbus organization for Cleveland. During the 2021-22 season, Cassels played in 70 games, scoring 6 goals, and totaling 25 points.

Following his lone season in Cleveland, Cassels left for Sweden, playing in 13 games. He then left and came back to North America signing with the AHL’s Belleville Senators.

With San Jose in re-building mode, Cassels could see some time with the Sharks, although as of now, the 28-year-old has yet to play an NHL game.
