Former Cleveland Monsters defenseman Ole Julian Bjørgvik-Holm has signed a deal to play with the Graz99ers of ICEHL in Austria. The team plays in Graz, Austria.
Bjørgvik-Holm was drafted by Columbus with the 145th overall pick in 2020. He never got a chance to play in Columbus, instead spending all of his time in Cleveland.
In 121 regular-season games, he totaled 17 points. In 23-24, he played 57 games for the ECHL's Cincinnati Cyclones, scoring 5 goals and totaling 33 points.
THN Columbus spoke to Bjørgvik-Holm on a podcast a few years ago, and his goal was to become the next Norwegian NHLer. His idol was another former Norwegian Blue Jacket, Ole-Kristian Tollefsen, who was a tough-guy defenseman for the CBJ who played parts of four seasons.
Bjørgvik-Holm is still young, and could still come back to North America to pursue an NHL career. But for now, he'll go back to Europe and try to get better.
